You've just found
the online home of the Peels on Wheels, based in the Sir Robert Peel (Bobby

cheapest travel possible to Stockport County away games for County fans.
And to drink the odd beer or two.

Bury - Walk 2nd attempt, though no coach running
Update on 02/02/08
Phil and Andy Plant have decided that they're walking to the replay on Tuesday night, and you're welcome to join them if you want to try it again! There won't be a PoW bus running to the game though as it's been a little short notice to organise. Update: Phil and Andy P will be setting off at around 10am from the Bobby Peel (they will be outside, or if it's raining, in the cafe across the road from it)

Not again! But they still walked...
Update on 20/01/08
The Peels on Wheels sponsored walk to Bury set off once more with the knowledge that the match would more than likely be called off. They went anyway, including SCFC MD Mark Maguire, and despite finding out early on in the walk the game was called off, they still went all the way to Bury! If you see Phil/Pete/Andy/Steve Pollard please give money for the cause - the Disabled Supporters Club.

Melissa's Funeral
Update on 10/01/08
Members of Peels on Wheels attended Melissa's funeral today. It was a deeply moving farewell, and while most of us involved in the walks only met her a few times, she will be sadly missed.

Disabled Club Sponsored Walk to Bury & Sad news
Update on 05/01/08
All at Peels on Wheels were absolutely devasted to learn that young Melissa has passed away. Melissa was one of the bravest girls we've ever met, and despite having to contend with EB, was always a shining light, brave and she completed the Macclesfield walk last year! She will be sadly missed.
County themselves are working with Debra now so this year the target of the Peels sponsored walk is to raise as much money as possible for the Disabled Supporters Club. Find Phil, Andy Plant, or any of the PoW crew at a game and we'll get your sponsorship details down - anything you can give is greatly appreciated. |
Website Issues
Update on 05/01/08
Yes, we are still running. After some serious issues with Service Provider after they had a Security Breach, it's taken some time to re-enable all the relevant access. It's done now, so we'll get back up and running again over the next week and start updating everything again. Up and coming events - the Sponsored Walk to Bury is starting shortly, see immediately below, and we have some very sad news indeed to report, so we want to make sure we get a decent total for this one - see the story immediately below this
